I met a woman back in Jan. of '89. When my eyes me hers it was instant love, my part not hers "yet". It took 3 months to get a date, but I was always there. We went out and it continued. We had a daughter in May of '90. We got married on vacation in Kentucky. It was a small wedding. Her brother was the matron of honor, a friend was the best man (he's passed now). Our wedding rings were paper clips. I still have them. We have real ones now.
The years have been good and some bad. But about the last 8 years she's been wanting to get re-married, but money was tight. On her birthday, April 22 2008, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She literaly hit the floor. It really tore her up. There was nothing I could do but ask why. For such a wonderful, loving and kind person, why? She lost both of them.  Three weeks of chemo and radiation and 3 operations. I stood by her side. One reconstruction on the left side, she was almost done, she contracted a bad infection. They could not stop it so they had to completely remove the left side again. I told her I will fight this with you. She has one or two operations to complete reconstruction.  She is such a strong woman. We have 2 children and a grandchild, a little girl, 2 months. We have been together 21 years. Married 18 years. My husband and I have wanted to renew our vows for almost 10
years now.  So here goes.  I met my husband in August of 1994. In March of
95 I decided to move to Jacksonville, N.C. (he’s a Navy Corpsman and was
stationed at Camp Lejeune) by May he proposed to me at a local beach.  In
August I found out I was pregnant with our first child.  So a few days
later he calls me from work and says, “Hey, you wanna get married on
Saturday instead of waiting until January? We can go to the Justice of the
Peace and have a reception at the house.” This was not the wedding I
thought I would have but I was 19 yrs old and in love so I said “YES”.
My husband is 11 yrs older than me (all of the guys at work used to say
that he found me on the playground) and even though he’s never been
married before he was all about a “no stress” wedding.  So Saturday
comes, my wedding dress was a black sundress, the guy who marries us looks
like Boss Hogg, no flowers, no pictures, no  family, just 2 of his friends
from work.  It was hard not to laugh during the ceremony.  After we were
married, I drove home while he went with his friends to go get beer and
chicken for the BBQ…I mean the reception (hehe).  He invited his
co-workers and their wives/girlfriends, they got drunk, ate chicken and
burgers and to top the night off they took a brand new case of drinking
glasses and threw them at a storage shed. Ok, so these are the memories
that I have. Don’t get me wrong, I think they are humorous  but at the
same time it makes me sad to think that my dad never got to walk me (his
only daughter) down the aisle and I wanted that more than anything.
We’ve always wanted to renew our vows and we have talked about it several
times but with 4 kids now and with my husband still in the military (moving
every 3 years) money has always been a factor.  My dad lives in
Pennsylvania and my husband’s parents live in Florida.  The strangest
thing of all is that our parents HAVE NEVER MET.  Crazy, right? This August
will be our 15th Anniversary and we would love nothing more than to be able
to renew our vows; we think it would be AWSOME to win this!!

 

 

This Valentines day marks our 5th anniversary from our first kiss as boyfriend and girlfriend and we had hoped that this year would make our first kiss as husband and wife, but due to many financial setbacks we are not able. I moved from Iowa with four children. He is from here. We had a quick ceremony at a small church. We could not afford a nice ring for me and the kids weren't there. We were married on 08/13/2005. We managed to make the decision to get married, plan the wedding and execute the wedding in 6 days. We never planned to get married when we did, but my dad was diagnosied with terminal cancer in May 2005 and was given 6 months to a year to live. By August, his cancer had spread so far and so fast, that we knew it wouldnt be much longer. His dying wish was to see me married to Bo since he was the man of my dreams. We had a quickie wedding in Kanawha State Forest with just a few friends and family so that we could fulfill his one last wish. (he passed away 11/01/05). Our "reception" was a night out to the Goal Line with a few friends, and our "Honeymoon" was a night at a local motel that was paid for by co-workers. The few pictures that we have were taken by guests. We really would like to be able to "do this right" so that we could have a wedding to remember. Also... Big Pappa J officiating, well, that would just be the icing on the cake!

 

 

My husband and I was married sept. 11 2000 in a preacher's house. My first year anniversary was when the towers fell in New York city. I was not to far away from the plane that went down in PA. My second year anniversary a good friend of ours died of a heart attack at the age of 30 while we were at his house :( . The third year a friend of mine gets into a car wreck and survives (thank God) The fourth year my Husband and I get sick at the same time(that has never happened except that one time) The remaining years after that nothing really has happened at all. But we never really get to celebrate are anniversary because of all the bad things.The day of it we seat around wondering what is going to happen. Should I cry now or wait to see. My parents and his parents were never at our wedding. I was married two weeks after I turned 18 my husband was 22 so ours parents did not know about it until after the fact happened. They were not to happy. Then we left and lived in a semi truck going between Florida and Texas after about six months we came back to WV. I have never had a ceremony and probably will never be able to afford a nice one so this is most likely my only chance and we will probably celebrate like your supposed to with the new date. We have been together for six and a half years we have six children between us. We do everything we can to make our family happy, however that leaves little left for us to spend on ourselves or a wedding. My dad never got to give me away, the preacher never got our names right, the white dress I had got covered in mud. My mom had made the flowers and the cake but the storm destroyed everything. First of all, I was married the first time at the age of 19 which was a put together wedding, I never had a real wedding gown or anything, actually I was married in a lavender prom gown and the groom was in a brown curduroy suit..lol....it was kind funny but at such young age, it really didn't matter to us, all we wanted to do was get married..luckily, tht marriage lasted 15 years and produced 3 kids. well, after a divorce, I am now remarried almost 10 years now and yet again, this one left me without a real gown as well...it was much nicer than the first but still, I am almost 45 years old and have yet to wear a real wedding gown.My Husband is in the military and it has really been tough, being apart for months at a time and all but I am so much in love and would just love to have a real wedding and remarry my military man again. Grant and I have been together for over 6 years. I think we should win because we are very much in love of course but we need the help. I'm in the WV Army National Guard and I'm going back over seas at the end of the summer. We're trying desperately to get into a house before that and between that and having to help a family member deal with tax issues we are honestly too tapped to pay for an actual wedding. My husband and I did not have a "traditional wedding" we got married in our front yard, in blue jeans, our cake was made by my gradmother, and after our vows, we grilled out and fed everyone and were pulled seperate ways. I loved that day and everything that it stands for, my husband is the most amazing man, he is my everything. It would be nice to see him in a Tux and renew our vows, with all of our friends and family there, with a more traditional type ceremony. Plus our boys would get to share in the ceremony and see their mommy and daddy celebrate the love that we share.
 

When we tied the knot it was in front of his mother's house, his dad was a preacher and it consisted of just saying yes to the question do you want to get married. Every girl dreams od having a least a small wedding. Iwould be nice after five years of marraige to finally have a real wedding and be able to invite friends and family

Hello! I'm Ashley and my fiance is Tork. Our 3 year anniversary was October 18, 2009 and we have been engaged since December 6, 2008. We're good people who are always doing the right things, and helping anyone we can. Tork has four sons, which I love like my own. Grae is 13, Gunnar is 11, Griffin is 9, and Gage is 7. They're all going to be in our wedding and it would make their day if Rock 105 was in on it. Its their favorite radio station in Charleston. Tork just wrapped up a bad divorce that has lasted more than 3 1/2 yrs that he has handled like a CHAMP! He's never argued, he's never put up a fight for all of the things he has lost, he's just taken it and put up with it all for the sake of his boys like a good parent should. You have to respect that! He gives above and beyond anyone I've ever known, and he deserves to have a blast and rock out on his wedding day and enjoy this one! I still think he's crazy for wanting to marry again, but on the other hand, I can't say that I blame him. He and I were never suppose to be what we are, it just evolved to this and we wouldn't change a thing. We were just two lonely people looking to have a little fun and a few months into it, it turned out we kind of liked each other. After we agreed on that, it quicky turned into love and it just keeps getting better! I'm looking forward to what is still to come, because we're absolutely perfect for each other and its only smooth sailing from here! I am going to love him for the rest of my life, openly, honestly and faithfully, because he is the best man I've ever known and he deserves the same kind of love that he gives to everyone else. We just bought a fixer-upper house so that one day we can start a family outside of our adopated four legged fiends. Our family starts with Roberts father who is coming home to stay with us. He has Parkinsons so adjustments and repairs to the home must be made before he comes. All the money we have goes into our house. We've known each other for 7 years and been together for 2. We are passionate about each other always trying to care for one anothers' needs, wants, and feelings. The love we share was sparked 7 years ago and never forgotten. There is nothing in this world that would make us happier than to spend the rest of our lives together. We are the light in each others lives as Robert would say. Bob and I have been together for six years. He proposed two years ago, but some life events have prevented us from getting married. We were married on January 16, 1992 by a Justice of the Peace in Grand Forks, ND. I was stationed at the Air Force base there and was still a young airman (which equates to being poor!) Jimmy and I have been together since February 1996. We have been married since April 2005, but it was performed at the court house with people in shackles waiting outside the door. I would love to have the chance for a "real" wedding with the dress, our families, the whole thing. And any excuse for a new tattoo is a good excuse!

 

 

Howard and I met in 2003. My father was killed by a drunk driver in September of 2003. At that time, Howard became my best friend. We started dating in July of 2004. He asked me to marry him on March 11, 2005. We got married on March 11, 2006. Everyone says that the first couple of years is the hardest. We are living proof that it is true. We bought a brand new mobile home that had alot of problems from the first day. We talked about our options about kids. I was born with a rare birth defect and will never be able to have a child of my own. Therefore, we decided to do foster care. We had a child who was a Meth baby for 80 days. We watched as the child went through the pain and agony of withdrawls. The mother ended up getting the child back in Feb. of 2007. Ten days later I left our home in search of myself. I had post dramatic stress syndrome and was extremely depressed. Howard and I had never fought until after I left. We ended up in the worse way and July of 2007 our divorce was granted. On June 29, 2008 we went to our local courthouse and got married. We didn't have the money for another real wedding or anything that went with it. To this day we have not been able to buy our wedding rings. No matter how bad it got we always loved each other. We are meant to be together and would love to have the opportunity to have the Rock 105 wedding. Please vote for us!!

 

 

Hi, me and my boyfriend have been together for 4 years now and have a 1 year old child together. Our son was born with biolateral cleft lip and palate. It has took all of our savings that we had to get married to pay for his 3 surgeries, and were still shy for his next surgery on April 9th. We love one another and we would love to tie the knot. We just cant afford it right now and we wont be able to for years to come. They have told us our son will undergo atleast 10 surgeries and more then likely more.
